Daniel Durany is a speaker, author, editor and advocate for persons with Asperger’s Syndrome (AS) and people who deal with it in others. His knowledge and passion are derived from the fact that he, too, is afflicted with AS. Daniel volunteers with FEAT (Families for Effective Autism Treatment) and implemented an adult Asperger’s Support Group. He makes public speaking appearances at Autism conferences and school districts around Dallas-Fort Worth.
In his presentations, Daniel focuses on his own journey with Asperger’s. He discusses his childhood, struggles with dating / relationships, and challenges in the job world. He gives helpful tips for people on the autism spectrum to help them relate to other people with methods such as the ALT (Appreciation, Listening, & Trusting), Branching Out, and Non-Branching Out. Daniel offers insight into his struggles that will help people understand individuals on the Autism Spectrum Disorder. Share Daniel’s personal story. Gain perspective, knowledge, and hope from his journey.
In 2013 Daniel was appointed by the Governor to serve for Texas Council on Autism and Pervasive Developmental Disorders and Keynote Speaker for the Texas State Autism Conference. Ever since he speaks all over Texas and outside there, too.
Following his presentations, audience members have clearer understanding about breakdowns in communication with people with Asperger’s, transitions from high school-to-college, sensory issues, and psychological difficulties that AS typically causes. With this knowledge educators and parents will be enabled to design solid support systems and strategies for academic, emotional and physical success.
"Daniel spoke at a Parent Support Group in our District on the topic of "My Journey with Asperger's" and gave us insight not only into the world of Asperger's, but the thought process of a person with Asperger's. He was engaging and informative in letting the audience know to how best to communicate and work with a person with Asperger's. His insight and honesty was invaluable."

"I heard you speak on February 28th here in Denison (I'm the one who said, "Good for you" when you told us you broke up with your past girlfriend), and I wanted to tell you again how much I enjoyed your program. It was very informative and enlightening. The four tips you gave as advice for dating could be used for every man! I hope you will speak in Denison again."
Denise Blount, Denison ISD
